June is a month that brings warm sunny days, tense anticipation of the holidays, but also a lot of cultural events. If you are looking for a way to spend a June weekend with your family or friends, do not hesitate to head to Posázaví, where a variety of events full of experiences and fun await you.
Children’s Day at Konopiště Castle – Behind the Treasure of Duchess Žofie
Every year, the Konopiště Castle hosts a Children’s Day in the adjacent Rose Garden, which offers a full day’s programme for young visitors. Through various tasks, they will find their way to a well-deserved reward. There will also be bird predator shows and interesting facts from the world of plants.
Unique evening tours at Konopiště Castle
We will stay at Konopiště Castle for a while. The establishment now offers every second Wednesday a unique tour of the illuminated glasshouses of the Rose Garden, founded by Archduke Franz Ferdinand d’Este. And if you don’t just happen to hit the right date, the remaining Wednesdays feature an evening tour of the castle dedicated to the Archduke’s friendship with Count Harrach, which also includes rooms and exhibits not normally open to the public, including photographs from the Sarajevo assassination.
The Day of Kozel at the Velké Popovice Brewery
After four long years, an event for lovers of this popular lager will take place again. In addition to beer tastings, there will also be delicious food, folk craft demonstrations and brewery tours. The whole event will be accompanied by the bands No Name, Brutus, O5 & Radeček and many others.
Jílové Beer Festival
A celebration of the golden drink in the golden city. This is what you could call the event, held just 3 km from our cottage Daisy. Right in the park behind the museum in Jílové u Prahy, 10 microbreweries will present themselves, each offering up to 5 types of beer. There will also be an accompanying program or activities for children such as face painting, bouncy castle and trampolines.
Hooray for the holidays – Týnec nad Sázavou
A fun afternoon is prepared for young and old in the garden of the cultural centre in Týnec nad Sázavou. Children can enjoy a magic show, a bouncy castle, face painting and an escape game. If you decide to attend this event, be sure not to miss a visit to the local castle.
These events are just a small sample of what Posázaví has to offer. Whether you are looking for gastronomic experiences, historical attractions or just want to put a smile on your children’s faces, you will certainly find your own in this charming part of the country.
